first off this is a romantic poem ( not like hearts and stars romantic but the literary genre see edmund burke) it is about how we may think that our time is the most advanced, that our achievments are the greatest in history by one day hundreds of years from now future civilizations will look back and be amused by our hubris, they will laugh at our naivete. Our great cities, our great accomplishments will be ruins we will be a distant memory and our accomplishments will be meaningless
