: Eleanor McCain
: Born and raised in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Eleanor McCain started singing at a young age at church, schools and community events. With musical training resources scarce in her small Maritime hometown, her mother drove Eleanor over 150 kilometers away to Fredericton for voice lessons to cultivate her daughter’s budding talent. Eleanor went on to graduate from the music program at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB and then moved to Toronto, Ontario to pursue her vocal training.
: The extra effort paid off and as Eleanor prepares to launch Intimate, her debut album (June 5), she has found a unique and personal blend that crosses genres. The album features contributions from such notable musical artists as Natalie MacMaster, Chantal Kreviazuk and John Mc Dermott.
: Eleanor McCain brings a melting pot of different styles and influences – clic, Celtic, ballad, folk and pop, Eleanor McCain characterizes her singing and her selection of materials in a single and remarkable word: intimate. Her voice is an elegant and personal toll through which she connects with listeners and her natural ability is strikingly evident on the album. For the singer and audience alike, the experience is warm, poignant and filled with an emotion that is basic and wonderfully human.
: Listen for yourself as Eleanor’s vocals soar above on the clic “Ave Maria” and touch a resonant chord on the Christine McVie penned Fleetwood Mac clic “Songbird”. For info and audio samples…click here
