Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) is mostly known for his famous
"Bolero" but "Pavane", written at the age 24, shows another
facet of his art. The full title of this sad and beautiful melody
is "Pavane pour une infante defunte" (Pavan - a slow,
stately dance - for a Dead Princess).
Available for free listening and downloading at
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/141/juozas_rimas.html
(a rare arrangement in the form of oboe and piano duo)
P.S. If you don't know how to listen to music online, you'll find
instructions on the same page.
