: A recent quiz question asked for the 4 "named" symphonies and most people got three i.e. Choral, Pastoral and Eroica but no-one knew the 4th which (according to the commercially prepared quiz) is purported to be "the Little German" symphony. I can't recall which number symphony the quizmaster said it was but I've searched the net and can't find any reference to this name.
: Has anyone any ideas ?

Hi Dave,

I wonder if the quiz master mentioned Beethoven's 'Battle Symphony' (Wellington's Victory, Op.91).

Regards
Bartok

I will try to find out about 'The little German Symphony'. Which I haven't come across before.
