: Does anyone know if the Boulez recording of Lelio with the London Symphony Orchestra and John Alldis Choir is available on CD? If not what are some good recordings of the complete Lelio? I seem to just be finding highlights from it but not the complete work.

I don't think the Boulez recording is available, but if you want the whole work, ie French spoken text included, there is a good recording on the Rouge et Noir label, issued by EMI. It is in a double box with the Symphonie Fantastique, and in the bargain price range. The conductor is Jean Martinon, the narrator Jean Topart and players the Choeurs et Orchestre National de la Rediffusion Francaise. The performances are fine (though at risk of sounding heretical on this site I prefer the Colin Davis performances of the music), but the sound is ogue and a bit thin sounding. There is also no translation of the libretto, which I, being a linguistically challenged Francophile, regret, but there is no doubting the pion of Monsieur Topart's delivery and it repays listening as an audio experience in its own right. Good luck, anyway.
