You should learn all about German Romanticism . Its more profound than English of American or even French versions. Not so aulting as Munch or expressionism yet Freidrich speaks to the truths pointed to by the antipsychiatry movements of the sixties and the non dogmatic religious sensibility that remains despite all anti religious efforts to discredit what Friedrich Knows. In England we never had so much exposure to German art but when I discovered it I trod a Path to Friedrich. A lonely path I suppose and Im glad that youve discovered him too.
