hello,
depending on how much time You are going to spend in Budapest, i would suggest You to visit some of the spas which have a unique atmosphere (Szechenyi-, Gellert- or Kiraly-spa), and of course the more standard sighseeing stuff (Parliament, the Castle, etc.).
Each spring there is a big clas-sical music festival going on mostly centered around the Academy. (repertoire is very wide both usually lots of Chopin and Liszt).
Depending on when You will arrive You might find a spectecular exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts (Sze'pmu"ve'szeti Mu'zeum) entitled "Monet and and his friends". As You might imagine it is a collection of French impressionists. (a rather vast collection that is)
another interesting place is the Statue-Park (Szoborpark) which You might not find in other Eastern European cities. It features the statues which used to populate the squares of Budapest and other cities of communist Hungary. It is just outside the city but there is a bus going there every day so it is not too difficult to get there.
In Esztergom there isn't much else other than the great Cathedral.
well i hope You are going to have lots of fun.
all the best,
Gergely Kiss
