: : Does anyone know where I could get Elijah (the full oratorio) on CD in English? If so, could you please email me, I have been searching for some time. Thanks.
I have 3 recordings of Elijah in English on CD. The most accessable one is probably the Robert Shaw recording of ~1998-99. The first one I got has a Bass/baritone named White (Willard?) singing the role of Elijah. The most recent one I got came from BMG record club and has Bryn Terfel singing Elijah - European choral group. All of these are available on the Internet or other sources. I believe I got the Robert Shaw recording at one our local classical music record shops. My FAVORITE English language Elijah recording is, however, as far as I know, NOT available yet on CD. It was released almost 20 years ago on DGG with Dietrick Fisher Diesgow (sp!) singing Elijah.
