: I am culturally-challenged and am currently trying to broaden my intersts in a wide variety of areas. One such area of particular interest is classical music but as the list of ports here indicate, there is a great many composers to choose from and each one has quite an impressive repertoire. I would very much be interested in who everyone thinks are the best composers and what are their best pieces.
: I have stumbled across Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, which I've heard many times before without realizing exactly what sort of sheer genius I was being exposed to. The same with Mozart's 40th. I look forward to seeing just how many other pieces I have been exposed to where my ignorance muted the beauty of it. Of course, most of my exposure has been in the form of the snippets I hear on TV and the silver screen. Needless to say, the experience of listening to the Sonata in its entirety is life-altering and I now look forward to future experiences.
: Thanks for your opinions.
