: My favorite piece of music, with Beethoven's 9th symphony and Egmont Overture as runners up, is Bach's "Jauchzet Gott In Allen Landen" (Cantata #51).
: Absolutely, flawlessly, captivatingly amazing. I've replayed it (throughout the last decade) over and over, and still find myself on the blessed verge of weeping when I experience its entirety.
: A few years ago I purchased a wonderful recording of the cantata, which followed the "Magnificat". The music was performed (in London, 1983) on period instruments by the English Baroque Soloists (under John Elliot Gardiner). The soprano soloist is Emma Kirkby.
: Does anyone share my amazement and continued allegiance to this breathtaking work???
no. your an idiot.
