Leonard Slatkin will leave his post as Music Director and Conductor BBC orchestra at the end of the season. Sources within the orchestra say that the candidates being considered for the conducting position are Marin Alsop, Mark Elder, Alexander Frey, Donald Runnicles, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Paavo Järvi, Thomas Dausgaard, Daniel Harding, or Jiri Belohlavek.
