Not sure if anyone still cares after this time, but I too now have a lyricless CD... What I >can< add to the argument is that 'O vos omnes' is the Vulgate (trad. Latin) translation of the scripture to be found at Lamentations 1:12. This verse, while obviously at first level referring to the author in his desolation, is transposed in traditional catholic teaching to the Blessed Vrgn (they won't allow the full word!!) Mary standing at the foot of the cross. Hence the exceptionally anguished harmonies. Hope that helps someone somewhere!
