Geoffrey Plank's recent book, An Unsettled Conquest, mentions that Cotton Mather "served as pastor" to Sir William Phips, who sacked Port Royal, Acadia, in 1690. Can anyone tell me if Mather was actually a part of this expedition, or did he merely incite the attack? Thanks!
