: : What was the trial of Martha Carrier about? Anyone have the info on this? : : thanks
: She was being accused of being a witch during the Salem Witch Trial (1692-1693)
The trial of Martha Carrier is an account of the trial of it's namesake who was hanged after many people including her children accused her of being a witch. It is an extremely biased retelling of the story in which Mather goes so far as to call Carrier "that rampant hag."
