Both Burr and Hamilton were soldiers, and well familiar as Officers with the better weapons available, were they not? It just seems their backgrounds, as well as their constant interst in military issues after the war might have given both a knowlege of say a fine dueling pistol. They both existed in a world financially beyond the average man and would naturally have had the inclination and exposure to such knowlege. Any help in this regard..?
