: : Does anybody know what I am talking about?
: Maybe. Free will and determinism are polar opposites - by definition. I suppose it isn't that simple in reality and that's where we come in to make our own individual integrated views of life. One can believe in free will in the sense of believing humans are rational actors but their actions are frequently dictated by circumstance, biology, society, etc. Have you ever read Hermann Hesse's Demian? Hesse has an interesting idea of fate and will which you might be interested in, along with this great conception of an integration of good and evil, self and others, God and devil, etc. : ~Erinn
One day I might check that book out. why do you not try out my dissertation.
