The burden of proof lies with the positive hypothesis: the person who says there are unicorns in the world must prove it, rather than others prove that, in fact, no unicorns exist. owing to the fact that in order to prove that no unicorns exist, an exhaustive search is necessary, which is infeasible.
Atheists don't say they "believe" there is no god, they know: from experience and knowledge. we know for a fact that nothing out of the natural order of things ever happens, i.e., the laws of physics and reality are always obeyed. until and unless i see the loaves of bread multiplying and water turning into wine, i can be very sure that there is no omniescent force controlling everything. all the laws of reality are perfectly fathomable to me, there is no mysterious hand at work. with this as my evidence, i believe that there is no god. in order to show that there is a god, show evidence supporting it, and don't ask anyone to simply believe.
