: Actually I just want to discuss the perception of reality in this work and how it is distorted. I guess also the state of mind of the narratot and how reliable are his depictions of what happened.
Although yes the narrator does seem to be completely out of his mind and at times even hints at it, it does not matter. It is a fiction. The point is not how realistic it seems. That is the point. The bizzare, the strange, the unreal. Things we fear simply because they are foreign or events that defy day to day logic, science, or whatever. AND AS LONG AS THE BOOK IS STILL PLEASING TO THE READER DOES IT REALLY MATTER?????????
